Dona Josefina is the founder of Mujeres que Tejen en Pedal "Dgunna Ryun Chee Lady" in Zapotec.
Mujeres que Tejen en Pedal is a community of women artisans  in Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca Mexico. Dona Josefina is a symbol of resistance, emancipacion and revolution for the Zapotec Women

I am the fourth generation of weavers in my family;
I was taught by my mother. For me weaving is like therapy because I focus all of my attention on the piece I am producing. I enjoy combining the colors of the threads just as nature combines colors in each season of the year. I am transmitting my culture, my traditions and my dreams to whoever buys my woven products. I have been weaving on a pedal loom for 47 years.
